Care

Fine jewellery is durable, yet also delicate, and should be treated with care and respect.

If your jewellery has stones in it, the best practice is for your stones to be checked by a professional jeweller at least once a year, preferably twice a year. If you ever hear your stone clicking, or when you tap your stone it moves, it is loose in its setting and should be taken to a jeweller to be attended to.

WEARING YOUR JEWELLERY

The gemstones and gold used in Flosé jewellery can be very sensitive, and therefore do not subject to the following:

great force, for example lifting heavy objects, heavy duty housework and partaking in sports activities

chemicals such as bleach, chlorine and other household cleaning products, cosmetics, perfumes, hair products, lotions and soaps. We recommend removing all jewellery before the application or use of such products.

prolonged exposure to heat or rapid changes in temperature

After each time wearing the piece, we recommend wiping it with a lint-free cloth to remove oils and salts.

Different gemstones have different properties such as hardness so if you are interested in the care for a particular gemstone, please get in touch.

STORING YOUR JEWELLERY

We recommend keeping your gemstone jewellery in a separate compartment of a jewellery box or in individual cloth pouches such as the suede Flosé travel pouch to prevent the pieces from scratching one another. Gem necklaces should be stored lying flat.

If storing chains in cloth pouches, please ensure to leave the catch hanging outside the pouch to reduce tangles.

CLEANING YOUR JEWELLERY

If worn regularly, jewellery can collect dust, grime and other unwanted particles causing it to lose colour and brilliance. To maintain the beauty and sparkle of your piece we recommend soaking them in a simple solution of water and gentle soap and brushing gently with a soft toothbrush such as a baby or child’s toothbrush.

Please contact us if you have any questions about maintenance.
